Last MSKTH’s Recap so far

🌝 KICK-OFF 2025: Mystery Night

We kicked off the semester with a thrilling evening full of plot twists and suspicious suspects in “The Great Mystery of MSKTH.”

Teams worked together to uncover clues, solve riddles, and crack the case. All while enjoying food from Bram’s Burger, laughter, and a few dramatic accusations along the way.

I’m sure many of whom attended were surprised to find out the culprit!

🔎 Active Members’ Meet-Up

Our active members met for a cozy continued evening of Mafia, fika, and introductions.
It was a good mix of strategy, laughter, and team bonding. If you want to join the fun and get involved behind the scenes, don’t hesitate to sign up as an active member through signing up as an active member on Hitract and join our Discord server!

⚽️ Sports Event: MSSU VS MSKTH

The long-awaited football showdown returned, and while the brothers managed to secure the win this time, the sisters played with incredible spirit and teamwork!

📚 Digital Study session on Discord

To support everyone during the intense exam weeks, we held an online study session where students could revise together and keep the motivation high, while enjoying games during breaks.

⭐️ Ayah of The Month

"Have they not reflected upon their own being? Allah only created the heavens and the earth and everything in between for a purpose and an appointed term. Yet most people are truly in denial of the meeting with their Lord!"

Qur’an 30:8

Do you not reflect? And in reflection, what do you find?
Do you truly believe all this, the warmth of family, the taste of food, the mercy of love, the beauty of creation is for nothing - just matter, moving without meaning?

Do you reflect, or do you deflect to avoid the weight of accountability?
Humanity has walked this long road together, through triumphs and trials, patience and pain. Can you really convince yourself that all of this was in vain?
You might try to persuade others, but can you truly persuade yourself?
And if you do, why deny what brings you joy, what makes you feel alive?

Modern neuroscience and psychology affirm what revelation told us long ago: the human mind needs meaning. People who live with purpose show greater resilience, lower anxiety, and deeper joy, because the soul hungers for significance, not randomness.

“To whoever of you wills to take the Straight Way. But you cannot will to do so, except by the Will of Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

Qur’an 81:28–29

So live with hope.
Take that step - every step, after all, is a leap of faith. And even if you try to deny meaning, you still live as if it is true.

🎥 Video of the Month - Ibn Rushd & Voice of Reason

Step into the world of Ibn Rushd (Averroes), the Maliki jurist, physician, and philosopher who became known in Europe as The Commentator on Aristotle. In an age when philosophy was under fire, he dared to argue that revelation and rational thought spoke the same truth in different languages.

This episode traces his rise from Córdoba’s courts in Spain to the palace of the Almohad caliphs, his textual confrontation with theologians like al-Ghazali, and the fierce backlash that saw his books burned and his ideas banished from the Muslim world even as they ignited the European Renaissance, showing how cultures and humanity always have exchanged ideas.

We leave the question to you, the reader. How do you see Ibn Rushd’s framework, his social critique, and his legacy among scholars? The Qur’an poses the same challenge to every thinker many times with the following question: Do you not reason?

🧠 A Question to Reflect Upon

Which approach do you believe leads to more holistic and sustainable problem-solving?
A) Using a comprehensive framework that considers the limitations of every tool applied,
or
B) Working within a limited set of specialized tools, but mastering them deeply?

Imagine being given a box of pens, each in a different color.
Would you limit yourself to a few, believing they are enough to complete the whole painting,
OR would you use every color, accepting the risk that the final picture might surprise you; a result you would never have discovered had you limited yourself from the start?

Share your thoughts!
Your responses will be featured anonymously in next month’s newsletter.

That wraps up this month’s issue! Thank you for being a valued part of our community. We look forward to seeing you at this month’s events, in sha Allah!

Sincerely,

The board of MSKTH
